  • May pros but might not buy if I could do it over.

Great to drive. Plenty of power and good handling. Beautiful luxury interior and exterior looks. There are two big shortcomings. The driver's seat is very uncomfortable and hard. This is a big deal. There is not enough padding, You can feel hard bumps where the steel is in the seat. Another negative is the quirkiness of the technology. It's not always predictable. The mouse is a distraction from driving. The 12 inch screen is a real plus. It comes with the nav package which has great graphics. However you would be better off without nav and use instead the nav apps on your phone. They are easier to use than the Lexus nav. Overall the techology in the car needs to be rethought
  • Improvement over previous ES

Love the styling, love the fit and finish, love the interior, love the power. Base ES does not come with acoustic side glass, road noise is well controlled but could be better on this class of car. Avoid the bridgestone tires as they are loud! Fortunately mine came with standard 17" michellins. Noticeable wind noise..only when breezy though. Once and only once when putting car in reverse it bucked so hard it felt like a car hit me from behind! Hasn't done it since. Touch controller makes it impossible to safely change car/audio settings. Rear side glass is thinner than front. Come on Lexus! No wonder I hear more noise from the rear than front! Overall car is much improved in just about all areas and much improved compared to my 2017 ES. Now if Lexus would do away with the energy green tires road noise would probably be improved and make acoustic side glass standard across the lineup and change the dangerous touch controller to a touch screen, it would make car much better in my opinion.
  • Great on the big things but missing the little

I think the ES350 is a beautiful car. And after driving several other cars, the v6 feels very powerful. The ride is quiet and smooth. The interior is refined. The not-leather seats are perforated, heated and cooled. The dash and doors have matching wood trim that is wonderful to look at. So why am I less than 5 star feeling? Because for $44k I don't have anywhere to put my sunglasses. The only USB plugs are under two covers in the center console and plugging in my phone means blocking a cup holder and the CD player. My 2011 Mustang has configurable ambiance lighting and dash display, but not this car. I can choose analog or digital speedometer, but not the background or the colors. And it has remote start but that isn't mentioned anywhere. Instead they tell you to subscribe to Enform service to use remote start. But I found out that using the door lock button to Press, Press, Hold will remote start the car. So a great car that has enough small problems to annoy me. As far as value goes, you can get the same features in an Avalon or an Accord for $10k less.
